Eris Extraction Facility

A remote Kuiper Belt extraction site harvesting volatile compounds for terraforming and atmospheric engineering.

Eris Extraction Facility is the farthest human-operated mining installation in the solar system, located on the frozen dwarf planet Eris in the Kuiper Belt. Built for isolation and endurance, the facility extracts volatile compounds used in planetary terraforming projects and atmospheric engineering.

Most of the site is unmanned, relying on AI-operated refineries and orbital processing stations to harvest, separate, and refine gases into usable industrial materials. Its distance from the inner system makes it difficult to monitor and even harder to police.

Because of that remoteness, rumors persist that off-the-grid factions, corporate defectors, and other unofficial travelers have used Eris as a hidden refuge beyond the easy reach of corporate governance.
